These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the websites katyabbottstudio.com and catapultconversations.com ("the Websites") and all services, programs, products, and digital content offered by Dr Katy Abbott, operating as Katy Abbott Studio and Catapult Conversations (ABN 76 772 271 047) ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing the Websites or engaging any of our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Websites or our services.
We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised date. Your continued use of the Websites or services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
2. Our Services
Katy Abbott Studio and Catapult Conversations offer a range of mentoring, coaching, and professional development services for artists, creative professionals, and individuals navigating professional and personal transitions. These may include, but are not limited to:
One-on-one mentoring sessions (Catapult Conversations: Spotlight Clarity Sessions)
Group programs and virtual residencies (including the CATAPULT: 6-Month Mentoring Virtual Residency Programme)
Webinars.
In-person and online workshops
Digital courses, resources, and training materials
Ongoing messaging support as part of certain programs
Community membership (The Catapult Collective)
The specific scope, duration, and inclusions of each service are outlined at the time of purchase or enrolment.
3. Nature of Services — Important Disclaimer
Our services are mentoring and coaching in nature. They are not and should not be considered a substitute for therapy, counselling, medical advice, psychological treatment, or any other professional health service. While our work may touch on personal matters, emotions, and wellbeing, we do not diagnose, treat, or provide clinical interventions. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or require professional support, we encourage you to seek the assistance of a qualified health professional.
Participation in our programs and services is voluntary. Outcomes depend on many factors, including your own engagement and circumstances. We do not guarantee specific results.
4. Eligibility
To purchase our services or access paid content, you must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid payment method. By engaging our services, you confirm that you meet these requirements and that all information you provide is true and accurate.
5. Bookings, Payments, and Instalments
All prices are listed in Australian Dollars (AUD) and are inclusive of GST where applicable.
Payment is processed securely through our third-party payment provider. We do not store your credit card or bank details.
For programs offering instalment plans, you agree to complete all scheduled payments regardless of whether you continue to participate in the program. Failure to complete instalment payments may result in suspension of access to program materials and services until the outstanding balance is resolved. We reserve the right to change pricing at any time. Price changes will not affect services already purchased or programs already commenced.
6. Cancellations, Rescheduling, and Refunds
Individual sessions:
We understand that life happens. If you need to reschedule a session, we ask for at least 24 hours' notice. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed without notice, may be forfeited.
Programs and group offerings:
Due to the nature of our programs (limited places, significant preparation, and resource allocation), program enrolments are generally non-refundable once the program has commenced.
If you need to withdraw from a program before it begins, please contact us as soon as possible. We will consider refund requests on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the circumstances and any costs already incurred.
Webinars, workshops, and events:
Registrations for webinars, workshops, and events are generally non-refundable, though we may offer a credit towards a future offering at our discretion. If we cancel an event, you will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to another date.
Australian Consumer Law:
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010) or any other applicable consumer protection legislation that cannot be excluded by agreement.
7. Confidentiality
We treat the content of all mentoring sessions, group calls, and communications with the utmost confidentiality. What you share with us in sessions will not be disclosed to third parties unless:
You provide explicit written consent
We are required to do so by law
There is a serious and imminent risk to your safety or the safety of others
Where you participate in group programs, workshops, or community spaces, you agree to respect the confidentiality of other participants. What is shared in group settings stays within the group.
8. Session Recordings
One-on-one mentoring sessions and some group sessions may be recorded for your personal reference. Recordings are made available through our secure client portal and are intended solely for your individual use.
You agree not to distribute, share, publish, or make publicly available any session recordings, whether in whole or in part, without prior written consent from all parties involved.
We may retain recordings for a reasonable period to provide ongoing access through your client portal. Recordings are not used for marketing or any purpose other than service delivery without your explicit consent.
9. Intellectual Property
All content, materials, frameworks, methodologies, program structures, written and recorded content, images, branding, and other intellectual property provided through our Websites, services, and programs remain the property of Dr Katy Abbott / Katy Abbott Studio unless expressly stated otherwise.
This includes, but is not limited to, content provided through the client portal, video recordings, training materials, workbooks, templates, group call content, private podcast content, and any digital resources.
You are granted a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to access and use these materials for your own personal and professional development. You may not:
Reproduce, distribute, or share program materials with anyone who has not purchased or been granted access to the relevant service
Use our intellectual property to create derivative works or competing services
Copy, repurpose, or commercially exploit any of our content, methodologies, or frameworks without prior written permission
If you are unsure whether a particular use is permitted, please ask.
10. Your Responsibilities
By engaging our services, you agree to:
Participate in good faith and with respect for the process, the facilitator, and other participants
Take responsibility for your own decisions, actions, and outcomes
Maintain the confidentiality of group settings
Not misuse any of our platforms, communications channels, or community spaces
Provide accurate information when registering, purchasing, or communicating with us
11. Use of Our Websites
Access to our Websites is provided on a temporary basis. We reserve the right to withdraw or amend content and services without notice. We are not liable if the Websites are unavailable at any time.
You must not misuse the Websites. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, introduce malicious software, or use the Websites in any way that could damage, disable, or impair their operation.
Our Websites may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of these external sites.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dr Katy Abbott, Katy Abbott Studio, and Catapult Conversations shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill arising from your use of our Websites or services. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to our services shall not exceed the total amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim. This does not affect any rights you have under Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded or limited by agreement, including guarantees relating to the provision of services with due care and skill.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Dr Katy Abbott, Katy Abbott Studio, and Catapult Conversations, and their respective officers, employees, agents, and affiliates, from any claims, liabilities, damages, or costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms and Conditions, your use of our services, or any action taken by you in connection with your participation in our programs.
14. Testimonials and Use of Likeness
We may invite you to provide feedback or testimonials. We will only use your testimonial publicly with your explicit consent. You may choose to be identified or to remain anonymous, and you may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us.
Photographs or video taken during in-person events or workshops may be used for promotional purposes. We will always seek your consent prior to using any image in which you are identifiable. If you prefer not to be photographed, please let us know at the time of the event.
15. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy, which sets out how we collect, use, and protect your personal information, is available at catapultconversations.com/privacy-policy. By using our Websites and services, you consent to the collection and processing of your information as described in our Privacy Policy.
16. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be interpreted or modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable, consistent with the intent of the original provision.
18. Waiver
A failure by us to enforce any provision of these Terms and Conditions does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce that or any other provision in the future.
19. Entire Agreement
These Terms and Conditions, together with our Privacy Policy and any specific terms provided at the time of purchase or enrolment, constitute the entire agreement between you and Katy Abbott Studio / Catapult Conversations.

We genuinely want to resolve any concerns you may have. If something isn't right, please contact us in the first instance so we can work towards a resolution together.
